Hi, I’m Freya.
I’m a Masters-qualified gestalt psychotherapist specialising in couples, relationships, individual therapy, and teen counselling. I believe healthy relationships are at the heart of our wellbeing.
I’m also a mother of three with lived experience of long-term relationships, parenting, and life’s complexities. These experiences shape the warm, non-judgemental approach I bring to my work.
About Freya:
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in politics, Steiner education, and supporting neurodivergent young people to navigate education and achieve their goals. These experiences continue to inform my relational, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship. Connection is central to our wellbeing. When we feel safe, supported and able to be ourselves with others, life often feels more steady and meaningful. I have a particular interest in supporting couples, and relationships more generally, to thrive.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Political, Economic and Social Sciences (USyd), postgraduate training in Psychology (UNE), a Master’s in Gestalt Therapy (GTB), and training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My Master’s research explored relationships and the commodification of connection in the modern world.
I specialise in:
- Couples therapy and relationship counselling
- Individual psychotherapy
- Teen counselling (15+)
- Separation, co-parenting and family transitions
- Grief, loss and life transitions
- Anxiety, depression, identity and self-worth
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in nature, riding horses, cooking or reading – practices that keep me grounded and present in my own life.
I’m available at Thrive on Mondays, with appointments at other times available by request.
