Hi, I’m Jack Tully,
I am a psychotherapist, educator, father and long-term partner and I came to this work through my own experiences with therapy.
I have come to trust that both acceptance and change are possible in our lives.
About Jack:
BA, B.Ed, M.GestTherapy
There are many reasons we may begin therapy; we may long for change or hope for opportunities for healing, growth and transformation.
Whether there is a particular thing you are struggling with, a need for greater support, or an interest in deepening self-awareness, I can support you on your journey. I bring my own lived experienced of what it means to be navigating the fullness of an authentic, meaningful and humanly imperfect life.
I practise a creative, trauma informed and integrated therapeutic approach, combining relational psychotherapy with research in neuroscience, attachment theory and mindfulness. My approach is safe, gentle, evidence-based and grounded in relationship. In a non-pathologizing, non-judgemental way, I walk alongside people to cultivate a greater connection to self, each other and the planet.
I completed undergraduate qualifications in Education (BA/BEd) and postgraduate qualifications in Gestalt therapy (M Gest Therapy), with focused studies on transforming developmental trauma through relationships. I have further training in EFT (Emotionally Focus Therapy) and relationships and trauma, including The Art and Science of Love; and Trauma, Neuroscience and the Evolving Therapy of Traumatised Children and Adults.
I am a member of PACFA, ACEFT and ICEEFT. These memberships guide and inform the ethics and professionalism I bring to my practice. I am committed to self-development and undertake regular professional supervision and continuing professional development.
I am also an accredited surfing instructor and musician. I like to spend time playing music whenever I can.
I am currently at Thrive on Tuesday’s and by arrangement.
